The abuses on the part of state institutions against business entities and the importance of fighting this phenomenon were raised by Prime Minister Pavel Filip at the beginning of the May 17 meeting of the Cabinet. The Premier said he was informed that particular authorities exert pressure on entrepreneurs, favoring the business entities that wok illegally, IPN reports.
Pavel Filip warned about the illegal sale of alcohol and the possibilities of purchasing alcoholic beverages without excise stamps. He stressed the importance of intervening promptly to fight the illegal payment of salaries and the underground economy. “In the Republic of Moldova, we will not be able to ensure economic development and to pay decent pensions and salaries, to make investments in infrastructure if we do not work legally,” said the Prime Minister.
He requested the state institutions to concentrate efforts on holding accountable those who work illegally, noting firm measures should be taken to impose order.
