Prime Minister Iurie Leanca retorted harshly to the Communist MPs when giving a speech in Parliament, in connection with the censure motion initiated by the Communists. He accused the PCRM of fighting against Moldova and its people, saying its only goal is to cause a new political crisis in order to come to power at all costs, IPN reports.
The Premier said the censure motion put forward by the Communists is in fact a political act that forms part of the so-called ‘velvet revolution’. “This revolution turned into a struggle against the state institutions, physical attacks on the police and many other things that remind us of the period before the 2009,” he stated.
According to Iurie Leanca, the Communists’ goal is to cause another political crisis, but the Government will oppose it. “If the PCRM’s objective is to provoke a new political crisis that would lead to early elections, it is vital for me, as Prime Minister, and for my colleagues to oppose the fatal blow that the Communists hope to give to our country,” he said.
He also said that the Communists fight against the own people and Moldova’s future, while the current government is making effort to repair the destruction and mistakes made by them during the eight years while in power. “At the beginning of 2009, Moldova was close to collapse. It was isolated from the whole world and had large debts. Moldova was considered a failed state. Today we have a balanced budget. We increased the pensions and managed to obtain economic growth. We closed the negotiations on the Association Agreement and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement,” stated the Premier.
He underlined that in 2006 the Communists maintained that the European integration policy is irreversible. He criticized the harsh attacks of the Communists on European officials and the EU. “Such an approach is at least strange. They help us, while the PCRM struggles to return to power even if it splits the whole country,” said Iurie Leanca.
