Premier requests new minister to hasten environment improvement measures

Prime Minister Iurie Leanca called on the new Minister of the Environment Valentina Tapis to hasten the planned measures to improve the environment. On June 9, the Premier presented Valentina Tapis to the personnel of the Ministry. He said that the major goal is to make sure that the people live in a clean environment, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué of the Government.

“The Ministry of the Environment must launch initiatives under the theme “Cleaner Moldova” so as to remove the waste from our towns and villages. Things in this area are difficult, but the objective is to live in a cleaner environment,” stated Iurie Leanca. He added that the new Ministry will enjoy the support of the Cabinet and the European Commission.

Valentina Tapis assured that the Ministry will be making effort to achieve the set objectives. “I thank you for the trust you put in me. My colleagues assured me that we will have good cooperation relations,” she stated.

Valentina Tapis was until recently Deputy Minister of the Environment, since 2012. On June 6, she was invested as minister.
