A meeting of representatives of the Government and NGOs that asked to publish the data of the census of 2014 will take place next week, Prime Minister Pavel Filip announced in the March 18 meeting of the Cabinet, IPN reports.
“It’s not normal not to have the data of the census taken two years ago published yet. We must identify together the problems and solutions to them,” stated the Premier.
Pavel Filip requested the State Chancellery to prepare this meeting. “We need these data for working out policies,” he noted.
A group of NGOs made a public appeal to the Prime Minister by which the Government is asked to hasten the publication of the data of the population and dwelling census taken in Moldova in May 2014. The signatories said the organization of censuses is important for research, marketing and planning activities, while the census results are extremely important for ensuring and checking the legality of such democratic exercises as plebiscites and elections, assessing the risks to national security, etc.
