Premier orders to check all children’s camps following Taraclia case

Prime Minister Pavel Filip instructed to investigate the case of mass poisonings at a children’s camp in Taraclia. He ordered to create a working group under the aegis of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection to establish the circumstances and identify those to blame.

The working group is to examine all the children’s summer camps so as to prevent similar cases. Meanwhile, the camp in Taraclia, where 98 children rested, was closed and all the children were sent home.

As a result of checks, specialists of the National Food Safety Agency determined that the camp didn’t have a sanitary authorization for functioning, the water didn’t meet the microbiological indicators and appropriate hygiene conditions weren’t ensured there. Also, not all the employees underwent the prophylactic medical examination.

Over 30 cases of poisoning in the summer camp were reported during June 23-25. The epidemiological investigation continues.
