Premier needs ministers in Cabinet
The Cabinet can no more take decisions as 11 ministers have been included in political parties' lists of candidates for the November 28 early legislative elections, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said in a news conference, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The PLDM calls on the colleagues from the Alliance for European Integration to delegate ministers to work in the Cabinet so that a quorum for taking decisions be present. According to Vlad Filat, for this reason the PLDM will present its list of candidates closer to the deadline for the submission of applications to the Central Election Commission.
“The Liberal-Democratic Party will field candidates who are able to continue solving the problems faced by the country and present a realistic electoral platform. The results of the elections are to confirm the power of the party and its commitments to the people,” Vlad Filat said, adding the Communists Party is the main opponent of the PLDM in the election campaign.
Under the law, the ministers who are in the parties' lists of candidates must leave their posts for the period of the election campaign. Eleven of the 16 members of the Cabinet were included in the electoral lists of three parties that form part of the governing alliance. They can be replaced by other persons by presidential decree.
