Premier: More active involvement of civil society in decision-making is required

A more active involvement of civil society in the decision-making process is required, including in connection with the process of adjusting the national policies to the EU standards, Prime Minister Dorin Recean stated in the annual conference “Cooperation between Parliament and Civil Society” which is staged by Parliament, IPN reports.

“Civil society essentially contributed to the democratization of our state. Owing to your support, today we have an open and democratic society. The integration into the European Union is our strategic direction and the involvement of civil society in this process is essential on three dimensions. First of all, we ask you to more attentively monitor the Government’s work as this will bring more discipline and transparency in our actions,” stated Dorin Recean.

According to the official, it is important to use the experience and technical potential for promoting particular regulations and for more efficient communication with the citizens on the policies adopted by the Government.

The conference “Cooperation between Parliament and Civil Society” is held annually with the assistance of the EU Delegation to Moldova. The event brought together over 100 representatives of civil society from all over the country.
