Premier meets with Italian businessmen

Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet had a meeting with Italian businessmen, who are candidates for the post of honorific consul of Moldova, to discuss the development of the bilateral commercial-economic relations and the relations with the community of Moldovans in Italy. The discussions were held within the visit paid by the Moldovan governmental delegation led by the Premier to the international exhibition Expo Milan 2015, IPN reports.

"The priorities of the Moldovan Government include the ensuring of macro-economic stability, development of the economy, and modernization of infrastructure. We want to create more advantageous and attractive conditions for investors, including for those from Italy," said the Prime Minister. Valeriu Strelet reiterated the necessity of continuing reforms in different areas so as to improve the quality of life.

"The people must feel safe at home, while those who left should have reasons to return to Moldova. We will make concerted effort to create new, well-paid jobs. Time is needed, but I'm sure that we will suceed," said the Moldovan Premier.

Italy ransk second by the volume of foreign direct investment to Moldova. There are 1,162 companies with Italian capital working in Moldova.
