Premier Greceanai urges corrupted youths to work out

The Local Public Administration Ministry and the Sports Agency were instructed by Premier Zinaida Greceanai to relaunch the work of the gyms adjacent to village culture houses. “The sports en masse should become a priority, otherwise how do we want to have Olympic champions?” the Prime-Minister asked at the Government's sitting of Wednesday, May 14, Info-Prim Neo reports. She said she was informed by village teachers that some culture house managers, backed by mayors, had developed profitable businesses, selling “alcoholic beverages and all kind of stuff bringing anything you like but culture” in culture houses. “The basic contingent of these mongers are children aged 13-14 years, who, often being deprived of the care of the parents abroad, spend their nights in this type of cultural events. Some managers and mayors drown these children in alcohol and tobacco,” Zinaida Greceanai says. Mrs. Greceanai also wants the creation centers working within culture houses reinvigorated “to attract the youth”, in the context of the Youth Year, decreed by President Vladimir Voronin. The Premier showed concerned that the discos in culture houses last till 4 in the morning and instructed the Minister of Interior and Minister of Culture to come up with a program of actions aimed at improving the situation. The term is two weeks.
