Premier Filip transmits congratulatory message on United Nations Day

Prime Minister Pavel Filip transmitted a congratulatory message on the occasion of the United Nations Day to the UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative for Moldova Dafina Gercheva, saying this is an important date for the whole international community, including for the Republic of Moldova and its people, IPN has learned from the Government’s press service.

“I would like to express our special gratitude to the UNDP Country Office and the Representative Offices of other specialized UN agencies, which form the Family of the United Nations in the Republic of Moldova, for the prodigious activity they have performed in our country during many years,” says the message signed by Pavel Filip.

The Premier mentioned the valuable assistance and expertise of the UN from which the Republic of Moldova has benefitted in promoting strategies and development programs in different areas. “This assistance is extremely welcome for promoting democratic reforms and modernizing the country for the purpose of ensuring economic growth and decent living standards for all the citizens,” reads the message.

The United Nations Organization was founded on October 24, 1945 by 51 countries that pledged to maintain peace and security at international level by developing relations of friendship and promoting social progress, better living standards and human rights.
