Prime Minister Pavel Filip had a good performance during his visit to Brussels even if he was besieged with inconvenient questions, said experts invited to the program “Moldova live” on the public TV channel Moldova 1, IPN reports.

“The dialogue between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union is asymmetric. Our role in this dialogue is to listen to what is said like docile pupils and to do what we are told. Filip wasn’t ready for such a dialogue. He made mistakes and has yet a lot to learn. However, despite the criticism, he had a good performance,” said analyst Corneliu Ciurea.

Former deputy minister of foreign affairs Iulian Groza said the MEPs put difficult questions to the Moldovan Premier, to which it is hard to find answers. “The MEPs knew to pose inconvenient questions. Pavel Filip didn’t have practical arguments in his answers,” he stated.

Sergiu Ostaf, director of the Resource Center for Human Rights, considers the Moldovan Premier did well in Brussels. “The Filip Government inherited multiple difficult situations in areas in which nothing has changed during at least five years. A very difficult case was put in in front of it now, which should be dealt with. Even if we have weak institutions, the Government will have to cope with the situation,” he stated.
