Premier Filat on visit to U.S.
Prime Minister Vlad Filat is paying a working visit to the United States, where he will sign the US$262 million Compact agreement with the Millennium Challenge Corporation, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the press service of the executive.
Vlad Filat is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Iurie Leanca, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar and Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Valeriu Cosarciuc.
The program of the visit includes meetings between Premier Vlad Filat and high-ranking officials, including the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, North Carolina Lt. Governor Walter Dalton, Secretary of State Hillary Linton and World Bank President Robert Zoellick, and the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between Moldova and North Carolina.
The Moldovan delegation will be in the U.S. between January 19 and 23.
