Premier Energy will not disconnect Apă-Canal Chișinău, Deputy Premier

The electricity distributor Premier Energy will not disconcert SA “Apă-Canal Chișinău” (ACC) from the power supply, Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu, Minster of Infrastructure and Regional Development, has announced. According to him, the distributor and the municipal enterprise reached an agreement, IPN reports.

The official told a news conference that he had discussions with representatives of Premier Energy and learned that under the reached agreement, ACC will repay its debt for electricity in installments. “I hope a lot that the mayor of the municipality of Chisinau, the administration of “Apă-Canal Chișinău”, together with the NAER, will identity solutions as we all realize that the water and supply and sewerage service is a priority for the city,” stated Andrei Spînu.

For its part, the National Agency for Energy Regulation (NAER) issued a press release following press reports saying that the inhabitants of the municipality of Chisinau can remain without water from today. “The NAER monitors the created situation and is permanently in contact with the electricity supplier ÎCS “Premier Energy” SRL, which informed that SA “Apă-Canal Chișinău: pays the accumulated debt in installments. Also, the electricity supplier assured that it will not disconnect the strategic water supply points and the addressed letter was a standard one and is normally sent to consumers with debts,” says the press release.

Two days ago, the company’s director Irina Gutnic in the meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council said that “Apă-Canal Chișinău” risks being disconnected from the electricity supply if the debts for power totaling 5.6 million lei are not cleared.
