The electric utility Premier Energy is asking the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) to raise the electricity rate for household consumers by about 20%, from 2.17 to 2.71 lei for a kilowatt-hour.
The utility said in a press release that the request comes in the wake of the latest increase, as of June 1, in gas prices.
The company also asks for a 2.28 lei/kWh rate for consumers connected to high voltage distribution systems (35-110 kV) and a 2.4 lei/kWh rate for consumers connected to medium voltage distribution systems (6-10 kV).
