Premier designate discusses priorities of government program with trade unionists

The executive’s government program will be submitted to Parliament for approval together with the proposal concerning the Government’s structure and composition of the Cabinet. Prime Minister designate Vlad Filat Tuesday had a meeting with representatives of the National Confederation of Trade Unions. The Government’s press service said it was the first meeting of a round of consultations on the government program of the new executive, where representatives of trade unions, employers and civil society will be able to make suggestions, Info-Prim Neo reports. In the meeting with trade unionists, Vlad Filat said that most of the processes initiated in accordance with the government program approved on September 25, 2009 will be continued, but there will be made amendments given the experience and certain problems accumulated meanwhile. The Confederation’s vice president Mihail Hancu stressed the necessity of stepping up consultations within the Tripartite Commission, including for discussing the draft state budget and draft social insurance budget for 2011. Vlad Filat assured that the Government will plead for effective communication with the social partners and for establishing an open dialogue with civil society. He underlined the importance of efficiently administering the available funds so as to achieve the objectives concerning pay raises and improve the working conditions of salary earners.
