Premier Chicu urges population to wear masks

Prime Minister Ion Chicu said the pandemic situation remains difficult and worsens considerably not only in the Republic of Moldova, but everywhere. He called on the population to behave responsibly and wear masks.

Making statements for the press after the meeting of senior state officials, Premier Chicu said he saw the decision taken by the Extraordinary Public Health Commission of Chisinau municipality and asks the citizens to comply and wear masks as everyone’s health is in danger.

The official noted the health system was supplied with the necessary equipment and the hospitals have available places, but this does not mean that the supplies will not be used up if the number of cases of COVID-19 continues to rise.

“We should follow the example of the conscious people in Europe and elsewhere. We should also combine forces as this is not politics that exhibits all the dirt existing inside it,” stated Ion Chicu.

He noted he saw how some of the persons speculate on the situation in the health sector and recommended not denigrating the Republic of Moldova as this does not do any good.
