Premier Chicu recommends Moldovans to return home by plane, not by bus

The Moldovans who are outside the country and want to return home are advised to take the plane, namely the charter flights approved by the Commission for Exceptional Situations.  The call was made by Prime Minister Ion Chicu, who made reference to cases when Moldovans who set off by bus got stuck at the German border, IPN reports.

After the meeting of the senior state officials, Premier Chicu said there are signals that many Moldovans fell into the trap of opportunists operating in the bus transportation sector. Moldovans from France and Poland who decided to return home bought tickets from tourism firms that do not work in Moldova.

According to the official, they found themselves in a difficult situation at the border between France and Germany. “The German authorities didn’t allow them to cross the country because they didn’t have permission from the other countries on their route. That’s why they encountered problems. It is regrettable that our citizens fell into this trap. Our diplomats are trying to offer them support, to create those corridors so that they do not stay at the border. There is also one more problem as most of those citizens stayed longer than 90 days in the EU,” stated Premier Chicu.

He reminded that the Commission for Exceptional Situations increased the number of charter flights, including for Paris and Warsaw.
