Premier acted correctly in regard to protesters, experts

Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet acted correctly with regard to the protesters, while the latter had a disrespectful behavior towards him, said invitees to the talk show “Fabrika” broadcast live by Publika TV channel in the evening of September 7, IPN reports.

Ilie Bratu, a member of the first Parliament of Moldova, considers the protesters should have accepted the Premier’s invitation to discussions. “If the Premier is ready for a dialogue, the protesters should have accepted his invitation. The Premier arranged a meeting and waited for 20 minutes, but they didn’t come. It’s not clear what they want – to solve the problems or to establish street dictatorship,” said the former MP.

Law expert Vitali Catana believes that the Prime Minister shouldn’t have appeared before the protesters to be insulted. “I think Strelet did it right when he invited the protesters to a dialogue, but he shouldn’t have appeared before them to be insulted. There should be a difference between those who protest and those who are on the stage before the protesters. In the last protest, they modified the message and the people are now confused,” he stated.

Media analyst Cristian Tabara noted protesters’ representatives should have accepted the invitation to discussions. “The Premier acted correctly and the organizers of the protest should have also behaved correctly. Any dialogue is welcome. The Premier shouldn’t yield to pressure and blackmail,” he said.
