A pregnant woman diagnosed with bronchitis and hypertension died in Cahul. The lab tests are to show if she had flu too. The samples were sent to Chisinau for analysis.
Contacted by IPN, vice director of the Cahul Public Health Center Dumitru Carasic said that until they are not furnished with the results of the lab tests, they cannot say if the woman died of flu. “The diagnosis is bronchitis and hypertension, but we are waiting for the results to see if the flu is confirmed,” he stated.
Specialists will travel to the woman’s home to make sure that the other members of the family, including two children, were not infected.
Over a week ago, a girl aged 12 from Valea Perjei village of Taraclia district and a 45-year-old woman from Chisinau municipality died after developing complications from influenza.
