Pregnant woman injured in accident near Stauceni dies in hospital
The seven months pregnant woman who was hurt in a road accident near Stauceni town last Saturday died in the hospital shortly after she was operated. Doctors' attempts to save the child also failed, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to surgeons of the Emergency Hospital, the woman's internal organs in the abdomen were seriously damaged and the fetus was between the perforated intestines.
The Renault car in which the young woman was traveling was driven by her brother-in-law. The driver's mother was also in the car. The car went out of control and collided head-on with another car. The older woman and her son died on the spot, while the pregnant woman was taken to the hospital. The occupants of the other car – a five-year-old boy and his grandparents – overturned. All the three were unhurt.
