PPS expects an answer from Igor Dodon by this weekend

Igor Dodon promised to tell if he will join the Socialist People’s Party (PPS) or not by the end of this week, the party’s co-chairman Victor Stepaniuc said in a news conference on November 8, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“I talked to Igor Dodon and we agreed to meet later this week to discuss. We had a short phone conversation. As we all know that the phones in Moldova are being tapped, especially of the politicians, Igor Dodon finished quickly the discussion. He said he understood our proposal and we will return to the discussion after Tuesday,” stated Victor Stepaniuc.
He also said that it is natural for Igor Dodon to be courted by other political leaders as well, but he considers that he and Zinaida Greceayi will feel best as members of the PPS. “Dodon is a good specialist. He and Missis Greceanyi will feel comfortable in our team, where all the members are professionals. I think Igor Dodon will remain on the center-left segment. It will be indeed a betrayal if he joins the right,” said Stepaniuc.
If Igor Dodon accepts to enter the Socialist People’s Party, he will be offered the post of co-chairman. “We do not have a chairperson. We have five co-chairpersons. Igor Dodon can today be the leader of the center-left circles,” stated Victor Stepaniuc.
He said he does not believe that the head of state will be elected this month. He considers there would be early elections or the Constitution would be amended. “The President can be elected if the candidate is a puppet who will bother no one. Only such a solution will be acceptable to all the parliamentary groups,” said Stepaniuc.
On November 4, Igor Dodon, Zinaida Greceanyi and Veronica Abramchuk left the Communist parliamentary group, arguing they want to help elect the head of state and avoid early legislative elections, re-form the government and ensure political and social stability.
