The MPs of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” will not vote for Prime Minister designate Natalia Gavrilița. In a statement, the party says that such a decision was taken after analyzing the political situation in the country and in Parliament, from the viewpoint of its efficiency, given the President’s position on candidate Natalia Gavrilița, who is the PAS vice president, and the PAS’ decision not to vote for the own candidate so as to trigger snap parliamentary elections, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the party.
The PPPDA always pleaded and struggled for free and fair elections so as to install a responsible, democratic and pro-European government in the Republic of Moldova, says a press release issued by the party. “Since the Chicu Government was dismissed, the PPPDA has informed public opinion about its view on the political developments in the Republic of Moldova. We consider the only pertinent option is the one that is stipulated in the country’s Constitution: the two attempts to form the executive during 45 days. For the snap elections, which are wanted by the largest part of the population, this option is the shortest and most correct one for achieving this desideratum,” noted the party.
Though they consider Natalia Gavrilița is the best candidate for Prime Minister, the PAS MPs will not vote for her so as to trigger snap parliamentary elections. The Socialists said they will decide the fate of the Gavrilița Government the day the governmental team is presented in Parliament, not yet before putting questions and finding out what solutions the executive has for overcoming the economic and pandemic crisis. The MPs of the Democratic Party and Pro Moldova are not in favor of snap elections amid the economic crisis, but will take a decision whether to support the Gavrilița Government or not only after they discuss with the Prime Minister designate. The members of the parliamentary platform “For Moldova” said they are ready to assume governance and even have an apolitical candidate for premiership.
