PPPDA will not go to consultations with incumbent Dodon

The parliamentary group of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA) will not go to consultations with incumbent President Igor Dodon, IPN quoted the party’s vice president Alexandru Slusari as saying in a press briefing.

According to Alexandru Slusari, there are no reasons for going to these consultations, either institutional or political. “Institutionally, we not only once mentioned that we have a parliamentary republic. Our views are to be disused in Parliament,” stated the MP, voicing hope that the legislative body will resume work.

The politician noted that under the Constitution, they are obliged to discuss with the President only when a candidate for premiership is to be nominated.

From political perspective, the PPPDA’s opinion about Igor Dodon was stated in elections. Alexandru Slusari recommended that Dodon should pack up his possessions in Condrița and get ready for lawsuits.

Igor Dodon on November 16 said if that the elections are described as democratic and valid by all the responsible institutions, until December 24 he remains the President with all the relevant constitutional powers. “To avoid different interpretations and to manage the situation, including in Parliament and that related to the pandemic and other existing problems, I will initiate discussions with the parliamentary groups,” he stated.
