The MPs of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA) had a productive dialogue with President Maia Sandu. They reiterated the firm and consistent position that snap parliamentary elections should be called as swiftly as possible, IPN quoted PPPDA vice president Alexandru Slusari as saying after the meeting.
“We discussed a series of risks and problems related to the management of a number of crises, deriving also from the sabotage of the former government that we actually anticipated and for us it wasn’t a surprise. We discussed the risks related to the budgetary situation, the management of the pandemic crisis, the problems of famers who suffered as a result of the calamities and other issues,” stated Alexandru Slusari.
According to the MP, among other subjects discussed were the situation of the Government and the probability of holding snap elections with an incomplete government with limited powers, the reformation of the justice sector and, in general, all the risks related to the management of crises during the next six months.
As to the ways by which Parliament can be dissolved, Alexandru Slusari said these are stipulated by the Constitution and the President is to elect the best of these, but they all involve risks and can lead to unpredictable situations.
President Maia Sandu on December 28 is having consultations with the parliamentary groups following the resignation of the Chicu Government.
