The Political Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” (PPPDA) considers Moldova goes through one of the most serious periods of democratic declines in its whole history and, in this connection, suggests dozens of initiatives that it calls reforming. The PPPDA calls on President-elect Igor Dodon to give up making statements that divide society immediately after he is invested and to put forward legislative initiatives in order to bring the wrongdoings committed in the country to an end.
In a news conference at IPN, PPPDA chairman Andrei Nastase said that after US$1 billion was stolen from the state treasury, the government did nothing to recover this money. “On the contrary, it made the return of the huge sum the people’s burden and recently decided to legalize the theft of the century and the property of corrupt functionaries, prosecutors and judges by the so-called tax amnesty,” he stated.
The party’s deputy chairman Alexandru Slusari enumerated the ten initiatives of the PPPDA: Annulment of the law that makes the people assume the stolen US$1 billion; Renouncing of the scheme to purchase electric power from the dubious offshore firm and identifying other power suppliers; Prevention of the rise in retirement age and insurance period; Dismissal of the current prosecutor general and nomination of an independent prosecutor general ; Prevention of the adoption of the law on tax amnesty of goods and capital; Immediate publication of the data of the 2014 census and bringing in order of the register of people and lists of voters; De-offshorizing of the economy by banning the activity of offshore firms in strategic areas of the economy; Diminishing the underground economy by stimulating the legal business and making the penalties for tax evasion much harsher; Administrative de-bureaucratization by implementing the reform of the central public administration bodies and significantly reducing the number of ministries; De-monopolization of economy by significantly improving and depoliticizing the activity of the Competition Council, the National Agency for Energy Regulation and the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology.
To immediately implement some of the aforementioned initiatives, the PPPDA demands that the President-elect, within ten days of the investing, should suggest a legislative initiative on the annulment of the law that makes the people repay the stolen US$1 billion; should make an approach to the special services from a number of states to investigate the bank fraud; should not promulgate the legal acts concerning the so-called pension system, adopted by the current Parliament; should take all the actions for the current prosecutor general to be dismissed and should nominate a new prosecutor general.
The Political Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” calls on the whole society, extraparliamentary opposition parties, the Party “Action and Solidarity”, the Political Party “Our Party” and others to constitute together an anti-oligarchic pole designed to strengthen the whole society, including by swiftly resuming the massive protests against the anti-people regime.
