The administration of the Political Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” (PPPDA) said the persecution of the party’s activists has reached unprecedented proportions and is aimed at frightening the people in connection with the large protest scheduled for September 17 and in the hope that the people’s demonstration will not be as large as it is expected, IPN reports.
The party’s leader Andrei Nastase told a news conference that those who stole the US$ 1 billion from the state budget now started to intimidate honest people who run small businesses to maintain their families only for the reason that they become involved in civil and political activities aimed at freeing Moldova from mafiotic captivity. During the last few days alone, Arina Spataru, Ruslan Verbitski, Andrei Magalu, Sergiu Cibotari, Constantin Nicolaev and other members and sympathizers of the PPPDA were subject to unjustified persecution.
According to Andrei Nastase, the intimidation actions include direct searches at homes, inspections at offices based on inexistent reasons, following during the day, wiretapping and others.
The PPPDA reiterates its firm decision to defend itself and those who are subject to dirty attacks by a criminal, rotten, hypocritical and illegitimate power. It calls on the population to come to the September 17 protest that is organized by the Great National Assembly Council to claim their constitutional rights and to demonstrate against the electoral system change.
