PPPDA requests government to take action before coming of EU assessment mission

The administration of the Political Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” (PPPDA) calls on the government to implement more measures until the EU assessment mission comes to Chisinau. In a press statement issued on December 11, the PPPDA demands that the authorities should publish the Kroll report II, annul the mixed-member electoral system and give up freeing persons to blame for the banking frauds from legal responsibility, IPN reports.

The provision of the €100 million in macro-financial assistance depends on the fulfillment of political, legal and financial-economic conditions. According to the PPPDA, the conditions for the government to ensure an efficient democratic mechanism, including a multiparty parliamentary system, rule of law and the respect for human rights, appeared in connection with the adoption of the new electoral system.

The party said the current government during eight years had all the instruments needed to implement laws on time and do the reforms asked by the EU, but preferred to act behind the scenes to seize power and now shifts responsibility for the previous failures onto the colleagues from the government coalition.
