PPPDA: Moldova risks losing money from IMF and EU too

After the Republic of Moldova missed the chance of using the €60 million based on the agreement with Romania, there is an imminent risk that it will also fail to obtain US$500 million from the IMF and €100 million from the EU, IPN quoted the leader of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA) Andrei Năstase as saying in a news conference.

According to him, the diplomatic message that Romania is obliged to transmit to the Republic of Moldova owing to the irresponsibility of the Moldovan decision makers is worrisome and regrettable. “Beyond the halt in financing, a problem is also the fact that Romania does not have who to discuss with in Chisinau. There is no responsible government with plenipotentiary powers with care for the people, but only such an entity can sign the extension of this agreement,” stated the politician.

Andrei Năsatase noted that regardless of the narratives of the propaganda, it should be clear for every citizen that this signal is very bad at the European level. “You cannot set the country on fire for the sake of a political party, for the sake of someone’s political exceptionality. I said it repeatedly that this will happen, but no one was interested. During five months they have called for snap elections,” he stated.

The leader of the PPPDA considers that in the created situation, the only reasonable solution is to install a responsible and competent government so as to overcome the generalized crisis and to hold snap elections according to the democratic standards.
