The Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA) is against the suspension of the Parliament’s work for two weeks. The party’s deputy chairman Alexandu Slusari said there should be no difference between elected officials and frontline doctors, police officers and customs officers, who return to work immediately after the testing. In a posting on Facebook, he says all the PPPDA MPs tested negative for COVID-19, IPN reports.
The MP noted that the budget deficit on May 1 (for four months) was higher than the budget deficit for the whole last year. “Also, the parliamentary majority, by introducing the artificial quarantine, delays the adoption of the law on noncommercial organizations, which is the last condition for the legislature for obtaining the second tranche of about 600 million lei of the EU macro-financial assistance,” wrote Alexandu Slusari.
He also said that Parliament has to swiftly vote bills of a major importance in support of doctors, pensioners, national producers and farmers. “We should decide how to declare the force majeure situation for businesses so that the business entities and entrepreneurs-private individuals could reschedule their debts”.
The PPPDA demands to call the Standing Bureau on May 28 so as to set the next sitting of Parliament for May 29.
