The Political Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” announced its political support for the candidate of the Party of Action and Solidarity Maia Sandu, who will compete in the runoff against independent candidate supported by the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon, the party’s leader Andrei Năstase announced in a press briefing, being quoted by IPN.
“We reiterate that our sincere support is unconditional and is in line with the national interest that we support. We expect the future President will meet the expectations of the Moldovan citizens with clear pro-European and national views in the country and in our large diaspora,” stated Andrei Năstase.
He thanked his team mates for the effort they made in the election campaign, noting from today the team will concentrate its attention on enhancing the performance of the party’s parliamentary group and the local elected officials.
With 100% of the ballots cast in the country counted, the results are as follows: the PAS candidate Maia Sandu gained 36.16% of the vote, while independent candidate Igor Dodon, who is supported by the Party of Socialists, won 32.61% of the vote.
After counting the votes of the Moldovan abroad, Maia Sandu is shown to be the leader with 70.12% of the poll, being followed by Renato Usatyi with 17.25% and Igor Dodon with 3.65% of the ballot.
In the country, the PPPDA candidate Andrei Năstase won 3.26% of the ballot, while abroad – 3.59%.
