PPPDA deputy head denies accusations made by businessman

The deputy head of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” (PPPDA) Aliona Mandati denies the accusations made by businessman Nicolae Pascal, who said that she, being the member of a producers association, caused debts of over 3 million lei in 2014-2015. Moreover, Aliona Mandati said she possesses information that the entrepreneur was blackmailed and forced to make statements against her, IPN reports.

In a news conference, the deputy head of the PPPDA said she knows businessman Nicolae Pascal very well and wouldn’t have believed that this can say something like this, but the system in the country turns the people into cowards and rascals. “There are economic relations between associations that run a company together and, even if a debt of such a kind existed, not only Nicolae Pascal paid it. This company has eight founders. So, the founders pay the debts to creditors,” stated Aliona Mandati.

According to her, the company has debts because it works, but these will be repaid on time. “I was and will remain an honorable person. I do not shirk from paying the debts to my partners. I admit that I have debts to other economic entities, but these will be repaid on time, in accordance with the contract conditions,” said the deputy head of the PPPDA.

Aliona Mandati noted she is surprised by Nicolae Pascal’s act as she spoke with him over the phone to arrange a meeting to discuss the debts, but the businessman said that he cannot talk and that he is being followed. Moreover, she was informed by her colleagues that Pascal was blackmailed and obliged to make statements against her. Most probably, the political lynching against her will continue as she defected from the Democratic Party to the PPPDA.

The deputy head of the PPPDA also said that she will sue the businessman for calumny.

Nicolae Pascal told a news conference on August 23 that he will sue Aliona Mandati. According to him, the politician, being the member of a producers association, caused debts of over 3 million lei in 2014-2015. He said the decision to go to court was taken after they could not reach an amicable agreement and the debts weren’t repaid. He will demand only that the debts be repaid.
