The Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA) requested the Prosecutor General’s Office to investigate the cases of exercise of pressure on three judges who are examining the case concerning the establishment of polling stations in the Transnistrian region. The party’s leader Andrei Năstase said that pressure is exerted by the president of the Supreme Court of Justice Tamara Chișcă-Doneva. He also said that he will make approaches for the three judges to be offered state protection during the examination of the case that is related to state security, IPN reports.
According to Andrei Năstase, the president of the Supreme Court of Justice, according to journalistic investigations, exerts pressure on judges so that these reject the PPPDA’s application concerning the polling stations that will be established in the Transnistrian region, in accordance with the CEC’s decision.
“This is the justice of Plahotniuc that now serves Dodon. All the people of Plahotniuc from the Moldovan justice sector are now behind Dodon. These judges do not want this case to be examined objectively, through the angle of the law. They want it to be examined according to political interests,” said the leader of the PPPDA, noting that all the corrupt judges should be brought to justice.
The PPPDA challenged the Central Election Commission’s decision to increase the number of polling stations in the Transnistrian region, including in the areas that are not controlled by the constitutional authorities of the Republic of Moldova. The Appeals Court rejected the application as inadmissible and the PPPDA went to the Supreme Court of Justice.
The Supreme Court of Justice remitted the PPPDA’s challenge to the Constitutional Court, interrupting the examination of the case until the CC pronounces on the exception of unconstitutionality.
