The National Council of the European People’s Party of Moldova (PPEM) confirmed Iurie Leanca as a candidate for the October 30 presidential elections, IPN reports.
Iurie Leancan said the PPEM considers its candidate will be the only one who will continue with positive elements so that Moldova does not stop at the obtaining of the visa-free regime and the Association Agreement with the EU. “I want Moldova’s second biggest achievement to be the submission of the application for membership in the European Union in two-three years. I can ensure this. I already sought support from all our partners and know what we have to do at internal level,” he stated, noting that Moldova must achieve this objective.
The leader of the PPEM said his party will be active and visible at internal level so as to convince as many people as possible that the PPEM’s variant is the best chance not only for returning things in Moldova to normality, but also for developing the country.
According to Iurie Leanca, the President from the very first day of his appointment must focus on the key problems faced by the state. “I’m sure that an appropriate candidate will know how to continue work to democratize the country so that the people lead a more prosperous and stable and more predictable life and do not have to emigrate anymore,” he stated.
