PPDA calls on authorities to put Transnistrian issue on list of priorities

The Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPDA) calls upon the authorities to add the Transnistrian issue to the list of priorities. According to the party’s deputy chairman Kiril Motspan, they have spoken about the tense relations between the official Chisinau and the so-called Transnistrian administration for over three decades, but no progress has been made in the reintegration process. The diplomats of Russia’s Embassy in Chisinau could withdraw to Tiraspol from where they will continue monitoring the right side of the Nistru, IPN reports.

In a news conference, Kiril Motspan said the recent press reports about the espionage actions of the Russian intelligence services camouflaged at the Embassy of Russia in Chisinau encouraged the Moldovan authorities to follow Romania’s example regarding diplomatic parity. Those espionage actions have been actually known since the independence of the Republic of Moldova was declared.

In this connection, the politician warned the authorities that the so-called diplomats could withdraw to Tiraspol, to the so-called security ministry of Transnistria, to the Operational Group of Russian Forces or the Russian consulate in Tiraspol, especially because the NGB is full of KGB officers and has as sophisticated and advanced equipment as Russia’s Embassy in Chisinau and this enables to monitor without impediments both sides of the Nistru.

“Stop coddling the regime in Tiraspol! The simulation of exaggerated care towards the citizens from the left side of the Nistru no longer convinces anyone, while the further supporting of the separatist regime that without the help of the official Chisinau would not have chances of surviving, especially amidst the Russian Federation’s war of aggression against Ukraine, is a sign of incapacity or is even a sign of complicity with the separatists. As the constructive opposition, we seek truth, transparency and trenchant decisions!” stated Kiril Moțpan.

On July 26, the Moldovan authorities decided that the Embassy of Russia in the Republic of Moldova will have 10 diplomats and 15 administrative and technical specialists. The decision will be implemented by August 15 this year. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration said the measure was taken as a result of the multiple unfriendly actions towards the Republic of Moldova, which have nothing to do with the diplomatic mandate, and the attempts to destabilize the internal situation in the country.
