PPDA asks Parliament to return to bill that caps “exaggerated salaries”

The Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPDA) calls on the MPs to return to the bill that caps the exaggerated salaries, which was proposed in the previous legislature, and to give it a second reading, IPN reports.

In a press briefing, ex-MP Vasile Năstase said there is a huge discrepancy between the salaries of some of the functionaries and of people working in the public sector, such as teachers and doctors. To narrow this gap, the draft law that caps pays should be given a final reading and adopted.

In the same connection, the former MP noted they consider the decision to raise the salaries of judges is inopportune, inappropriate and immoral. By such an amendment, the Constitution was broken as the “legislative product of Olesea Stamate” was adopted in the absence of the required appraisal of the Government.

After an amendment to the draft budgetary-fiscal policy signed by PAS MPs Olesea Stamate, Veronica Roșca and Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu was passed, the monthly salaries of the judges of the Constitutional Court were raised from 44,000 to almost 82,000 lei.
