PPCD has lowest number of female candidates
The Christian-Democratic People's Party (PPCD) is the party with the highest number of candidates for the November 28 early parliamentary elections - 54 persons younger than 30. At the same time, its list of candidates contains the lowest number of women - only 19, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a monitoring report by the Civic Control – Elections 2010 Coalition.
The Moldova Noastra Alliance and the Humanist Party of Moldova fielded the lowest number of young candidates – by 28.
According to the same report, the list of candidates of the Humanist Party, the Liberal Democratic Party and the Conservative Party include by only two women in the first 20 candidates. The Communists Party and the National Liberal Party have by eight women in the top 20 candidates.
“The electoral lists of the Communists Party, the National Liberal Party and the European Action Movement are the most balanced as regards territorial representation,” said Aliona Cerescu, a representative of the Coalition.
The Civic Control – Elections 2010 Coalition brings together 17 nongovernmental organizations that monitor the election campaign.
