PPCD electoral staff head: We want to know where the missing 4,040 ballots are and who used the additional 447 ballots

The July 29 voting reports presented by the Central Election Commission (CEC) at the request of the Christian Democratic People’s Party (PPCD) confirm the irregularities identified in districts, the party’s representative to the CEC Radu Busila said at a news conference on Thursday. According to the PPCD, 447 additional ballots were discovered in 19 districts, including the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia. 4,040 ballots were missing in 11 regions, including the municipality of Chisinau. Only in 5 districts, the number of ballots sent to the offices of the polling places coincided with the number of ballots returned to the CEC, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The disappearance of 4,040 ballots means that there were committed irregularities and the Parliament that is to be constituted will not be legal,” Radu Busila said. He added that the largest number of missing ballots was reported in Chisinau municipality – 3,329. “We demand a recount as the July 29 elections were fixed. We want to know where the missing 4,040 ballots are and who used the additional 447 ballots,” said Dinu Turcanu, the head of the PPCD’s electoral staff. The representatives of the PPCD said they will submit Friday all the proofs and legal arguments to the Constitutional Court so that it ordered a recount.
