PPCD continues to demand that votes be recounted
The Christian Democratic People’s Party (PPCD) insists on recounting the votes cast on July 29. “Our final goal is to have the votes recounted and to find out the truth about the election outcome,” the party’s representative to the Central Election Commission Radu Busila said at a news conference on Thursday, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The major irregularity invoked by the PPCD is the non-concordance between the number of ballots sent to the district electoral councils and the number of ballots used in the voting process. For example, in Rezina district there were used by 75 ballots more than the number of received ballots, while in Chisinau 2,937 ballots are absent.
Radu Busila said that they had informed the Central Election Commission about this.
Earlier, the PPCD asked the Constitutional Court to order a vote recount, but their application was rejected.
Asked why the PPCD did not inform about such abnormalities after the April 5 elections, one of the party’s ‘magnificent seven’ Dinu Turcanu said that then the PPCD did not have access to all the reports on the sending of ballots to district electoral councils and receiving of ballots from them.
