Power quotas for ground-mounted photovoltaic systems to be increased

The power quotas for terrestrial photovoltaic installations will be raised to 120 MW so as to use the sources of renewable energy. A decision to this effect was approved by the Cabinet, IPN reports.

There have been filed 144 applications for photovoltaic installations on buildings with the capacity of 111.2 MW and 21 applications for installations with the capacity of 10.56 MW. The interest in Aeolian installations and non-intermittent technologies is now much lower. This way, in order to achieve the value needed for photovoltaic installations, it was decided to reallocate the initial capacities based on non-intermittent generation and biogas, syngas and biomass cogeneration technologies.

The new changes will contribute to increasing own energy production, ensuring sustainable development, improving climate change and attracting investments during a relatively short period of time, said the authors of the bill. They will also contribute to creating new jobs given the interest shown by investors in renewable energy technologies, especially photovoltaic ones.
