The electricity suppliers requested the National Agency for Energy Regulatory to more than double the power charge. For example, Premier Energy, which serves consumers in the center and south of the country, asked for a charge of 5.13 lei/kWh, IPN reports.
According to the request submitted to the Agency, final consumers whose installations are connected to high-voltage power distribution networks could pay a charge of 4.19 lei/kWh, compared to 1.68 lei/kWh at present.
Final consumers whose installations are connected to medium-voltage power distribution networks are to pay 4.42 lei/kWh, compared to the current charge of 1.87 lei/kWh (excluding VAT).
For final consumers whose installations are connected to low-voltage power distribution networks (household consumers), a charge of 5.13 lei/kWh is proposed, as opposed to 2.34 lei/kWh (excluding VAT) at present.
Household consumers served by JSC "Furnizarea Energiei Electrice Nord" could pay a charge of 4.53 lei/kWh. Currently, they pay 2.84 lei per kWh of electricity.
