The post office MD-2012 Chisinau on February 14 will put into circulation the series of postage stamps “Grigore Vieru – 80 years of birth”, with the nominal value of 5.75 lei, IPN reports.

There will be issued 50,000 such stamps. The design was created by Elena Karachentseva.

On February 14 this year, Grigore Vieru would have turned 80. The poet died in the hospital on the night of January 18, 2009, as a result of a road accident that occurred on January 16.
