MP of the Party “Action and Solidarity” Vladimir Bolea said the post of judge of the Constitutional Court should be a purely technical one. According to him, the six judges should pass judgements strictly based on an analysis and not in accordance with the political situation in the country. The issue was developed in the talk show “Politics of Natalia Morari” on TV8 channel, IPN reports.
“The biggest problem we see at the Constitutional Court is that by their actions of the last few days, the judges of this Court despised the CC, the notion of Constitution and High Court and I think a lot of time will be needed for the Constitutional Court to regain its value and the people to have the right perception of this,” stated the MP.
Vladimir Bolea noted a CC judgement should be fully in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova.
Socialist MP Grigore Novac said the CC should abide by the law, not by politics. “The political situation in the country tomorrow will be different. And what? Will they give another ruling or will annul the previous ones?” asked the MP.
The legislative body on June 18 discussed the constitution of a commission of inquiry for elucidating the circumstances of the attempted anti-constitutional putsch staged by the Democratic Party through the Constitutional Court and the Prosecutor General’s Office.
