The municipality selected a contractor that will clean the bed of the Byk River in the perimeter of the street Petru Rares, up to Feredeului St, in order to solve the problem of floods near the bridge on Albisoara St in Chisinau’s Rascani district, IPN reports.

The head of the Constructions Division Roman Sofroni said the works include the collection of mud and reinforcement of banks by cementing a portion of about 1.5 km. The works cost 2.4 million lei. For the time being, the municipality allocated 250,000 lei for the first stage.

The works will start when the project is approved by the National Public Procurement Agency. It is planned that the works will be completed next spring.
