A portal dedicated to projects and programs implemented by the Chisinau City Hall was launched. The platform proiecte.chisinau.md can be used to study the over 1,000 large-scale projects implemented by the local public authorities in Chisinau in 2020-2023, IPN reports.

Mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban said the Chisinau City Hall is the most transparent and efficient public institution in the country. Over 1,000 large-scale projects were designed and implemented with the assistance of each member of the City Hall’s team for the citizens of the municipality of Chisinau, including waste management, energy efficiency, road building projects and projects to construct new kindergartens, schools, youth centers and day centers for children. “The City Hall covers all the areas of vital importance and has a portfolio of over 2.5 billion lei in funds attracted from European financial institutions for implementing projects here and now. And it implements them. We do not wait to build Europe at home in 2025. We are building Europe at home now. Chisinau is a European capital now,” stated Ion Ceban.

The mayor noted that the most serious economic and social blows faced by Moldova were received primarily by the municipality of Chisinau. It goes also to the high prices of energy resources. Most of the public and private institutions that consume energy - gas, electricity or heat - are situated in Chisinau. “Despite these problems, plus the hindrances placed by the central authorities, during a mandate we implemented more projects than during the 30 previous years taken together. Now all these efforts can be clearly monitored on the launched platform. Over 30 policy documents that are the main pillars for the development of the municipality of Chisinau were posted on the portal proiecte.chisinau.md,” said Ion Ceban.

The over 1,000 projects on the website were divided into eight categories. The largest of them are: Infrastructure, Education, and Medical and Social Assistance. There is presented information about the investments, costs and allocations for each project. There are projects financed with municipal budget funds and other projects implemented with the contribution of different partners. The platform covers mainly projects carried out in Chisinau, but also presents information about projects implemented by the City Hall in the suburbs.
