Poroshenko: Ukraine is ready to sign economic part of Associating Agreement

In the investiture ceremony on June 7, President Pyotr Poroshenko said that Ukraine is ready to sign the economic part of the Association Agreement with the EU. “We cannot delay taking such a decision. We finished the first stage for having the visa regime abolished and are ready to finish the second. The Ukrainians will travel freely in the EU in 2015. Nobody has the right of veto on Ukraine’s decision to follow the Europeans course,” said the head of state, quoted by IPN.

Pyotr Poroshenko gave his inauguration speech mainly in Ukrainian. He yet delivered a message for those from Donbas in Russian. “Dear brothers and sisters, we will not leave you alone. The presidential elections dispelled the myth of the illegal power in Kiev. The Yanukovych administration betrayed Donbas. Yanukovych governed for 17 years and now finances terrorists. He is responsible for the tears of mothers and refugees. I will come to you with peace and with a program of prospects. We are ready to hold early elections in Donbas,” said the new President of Ukraine.

He also referred to Crimea. “A compromise on Crimea is impossible. Crimea was, is and will be Ukraine’s. I told this the Russian authorities yesterday evening. Ukraine will be a unitary state,” he stated.

Pyotr Poroshenko underlined that Ukrainian will be the only official language of Ukraine. He finished his speech with tears in his eyes and the audience applauded him standing for a long time.
