Population will actively take part in referendum, poll
About 73% of Moldova's population is ready to take part in the September 5 constitutional referendum, with 91% of the people intending to vote “in favor” at the referendum, says an IMAS Chisinau poll presented on Monday, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“If taking into account migration abroad and a possible migration between statements and the optional behavior, we can anticipate that about 50% of the voters will participate in the referendum,” said IMAS Chisinau manager general Doru Petruti.
He also said that the Marketing and Polling Institute IMAS Chisinau will not make public the estimate number of votes that the politicians and political organizations would poll in the expected elections owing to the threats made against him. He refused to give names, but said a number of IMAS operators were contacted by persons who represent political parties and warned to modify the results for certain parties.
The poll covered a sample of 2,012 persons from 1,096 Moldovan settlements. The margin of sampling error is +- 2.2%.
