Population of Balti municipality pays more for provided water and sewerage services
The consumers of Balti municipality will pay higher tariffs for water and sewerage services. The new tariffs approved by the local council were published in the last number of the „Official Monitor of Moldova”.
Thus, domestic consumers will pay 6.38 lei per 1 cubic meter of consumed water and 2 lei for sewerage. The other consumers will pay the same tariff for water and 7.4 lei for sewerage, without including the Value Added Tax (VAT). The enterprises using own aquatic sources will pay 11.13 lei (without VAT) for sewerage. The tariffs entered in force on 1 July 2006.
Until now, the tariff per 1 cubic meter of water and sewerage for the domestic consumers was of 5.65 lei, and for the other consumers – 7.79 lei.
Mihai Golban, the head of the Customers Relations Department within SA „Apa-Canal Chisinau”, announced that the water supplier of Chisinau is making efforts to convince the decision-making bodies to increase the water tariff, „but no argument is accepted”. According to Golban, the current payment level is 98-99%, showing an acceptable level of current tariffs, while the tariff proposed by ACC per 1 cubic meter of water and sewerage is of 8.34 lei.
Now the population of Chisinau pays the lowest tariff in the republic – 2.62 lei per 1 cubic meter of water and sewerage. Companies pay for the same services 14.9 lei, VAT not included.
