Popular Republican Party will support Centrist Union in elections

The Popular Republican Party (PPR) will support the Centrist Union of Moldova (UCM) in the April 5 parliamentary elections, says a communiqué from the party quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The PPR president Nicolae Andronic argued that they took into account voters’ wishes that the Democratic parties should join forces, the compatibility of the two parties’ programs and the acute necessity of forming a strong political nucleus. “Our country needs politicians that proved that the interests of the citizens and of the state are of major importance to them and that contributed towards the strengthening of statehood through actions, not words,” the communiqué says. The UCM is headed by former Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev and was included in ballots under number eight.
