Poor sighted children will have a light sensory room
125 children with eye-sight deficiencies from Kindergarten no.135 in Chisinau will have a light sensory room. The project was made possible by the “Colors of Life!” campaign, organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova (AmCham), together with with the Creative Development Association, reports Info-Prim Neo.
According to Elena Buzu, coordinator of the organization committee for “Corporate Social Rehabilitation” of the AmCham, the first step was to organize a charitable tombola with symbolical guaranteed prizes; the funds raised were transferred to the campaign fund. The light sensory room will be furnished by the end of this fall.
The tombola fundraiser is already at its 5th edition, and it is dedicated to social campaigns with different purposes every time. Last year, funds were collected for 100 English lessons for 12 blind youths.
The objectives of the “Colors of Life!” campaign are to improve living conditions for children with visual impairments, and their integration into society, as well as to ensure access to education in an esthetically pleasing and well equipped environment.
