Polls failed because Moldova does not have free society, Promo-LEX
The results of the parallel vote count performed by Promo-LEX Association on June 5 were the closest to the results announced by the Central Election Commission (CEC).
Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Promo-LEX head Ion Manole said the observers delegated by the Association counted the votes on the basis of the vote counting reports of the polling places and passed on the information immediately.
”We have our own methodology that is used abroad as well. We make sure that the observers working with us are impartial,” said Ion Manole.
As to the opinion polls whose data were different from those presented by the CEC, Ion Manole said the polls failed because the voters are afraid to tell sincerely who they voted for. “The voters perhaps said they voted for X though they voted for Y and the information cannot be verified,” said Ion Manole.
He also said that the opinion polls are probably intended for free societies. Their results show that in Moldova the society is not free.
Promo-LEX’s parallel vote count showed that 48.35% of the electors voted for Igor Dodon, while 46.76% for Dorin Chirtoaca. According to the results made public by the CEC, Igor Dodon won 48.07% of the vote, while Dorin Chirtoaca – 46.51%.
